June and July projects

Hot Air Balloon made with Graphic 45 papers, misc. trinkets mini felt hat, ribbons - trims - chains and a few butterflies. My favorite part are the tassels that I found at a thrift store.  Project inspired by MsLiberty 25 on YouTube... she's amazing!  I put baby Trip inside (see photo below)

I looked everywhere for a little set of wooden drawers to alter and couldn't find anything that I really liked so... I made by own using chipboard, Tim Holtz Cabinet Dies, A Ladies Diary G4 paper, and some random doo dads from my stash.  The whole project was inspired by the little chipboard mirror and comb on top.  I especially like the hanger with laces hanging on the side.

After I finished my chipboard chest of drawers I found ...  a really cute set of drawers.  I had recently watched a video by CraftyChica87 (she is one of my favs!) on You Tube where she made a darling lace cabinet.  I decided to do something similar using the same kind of spools, an on the edge die, Prima Life Time papers and flower, lots of pretty lace and trims from Lavish Laces Etsy store and Michaels) and some "sewing" doo dads, etc.  I tried my hand at stick pins (need to work on that eek).  Never realized how much I like this style - so fun!

I've been wanting to alter a Mad Hatter Hat for a looong time.  I ordered some little felt hats but they weren't exactly what I was looking for.  Laura Denison from Following the Paper Trail was making bird houses in a series (where does she come up with so many awesome ideas?)  and one of them had the perfect hat.  I followed her tutorial and made the one below on top of the box (hers was a bird house, mine is just a hat on a box :-)

The picture on the left is the start to the hat I've wanted to alter all along.  When done it will sit next to my rabbit clock (which was inspired by LiveLoveScrap - Bona's awesome clock) made with the Tim Holtz alarm clock die.  The G45 Alice Halloween papers are so fun.  Can't wait to make more Alice themed projects...

The next project is one that I've been working on a little at a time for over a month.  I wanted to make a year long journal of baby Trip's first year.  I used the place in time papers and some chipboard to build this flip type book with each page representing one month until his first birthday.  I need to add the embellishments, a title and the precious pictures - hopefully I'll finish before he is two :-)
